Civil Service careers

The coveted top blog was written by Andrew Cullinane with a useful look at the Civil Service Careers Website: Applying for a new role. Andrew also wrote the No.2 article, Civil Service Careers Website: A new way to see opportunities where you live. This also centred on the evergreen topic of careers, providing valuable insight for thousands of readers. Andrew said:

It is fantastic to see how our efforts to promote a career in the Civil Service through blogs, has really allowed us to spread the message of what the Civil Service has to offer.

I'm really pleased to see that blogs about the Civil Service careers website achieved such widespread attention. It goes to show how interested civil servants are in furthering their Civil Service careers, and how keen people from outside industry are to join us.

Powerful and moving

Despite his blog being only published in early December, Adam Land's powerful and moving blog on the emotive topic of grief following the death of his beloved daughter Eloise soon soared to third spot.

Culture of openness

Following his devastating loss in 2018, Adam channelled his pain, determined to improve support for colleagues struggling with bereavement and loss.

Adam described the importance of making support resources easily accessible. Now he's working on ways to support both managers and bereaved colleagues in opening up about their experiences and encourage a culture of openness.

The emotional topic of loss is one that impacts many of us, and  clearly struck a chord with readers, many of whom may be struggling with grief at Christmas. Adam said:

I’m pleased that our blog had such a positive response – now I'm feeling extra motivated to progress this important project in 2021.

In case you missed any first time around, we have re-published them below.

  1. Civil Service Careers Website: Applying for a new role written by Andrew Cullinane.
