Sir Jonathan ('Jon') Thompson takes up the role of Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council in autumn 2019. He was previously First Permanent Secretary and Chief Executive of HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) from April 2016, after more than three years as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
In February 2018, Jon was appointed as Head of the Civil Service Operational Delivery Profession.
