Can you describe your role?
In HM Revenue & Customs, I have a Business Support and Data analysis role in Business Tax & Corporate Services in Human Resources. As part of my role I produce Performance Hubs which go to the Senior Leadership Team to assess where their lines of Business are in terms of progress towards their targets on several themes.
How did you decide which apprenticeship to select?
From studying Government Politics for my A- Levels I was really passionate and interested in government of which the Civil Service Fast Track Apprenticeship offered a quicker route into.
It was the best on the market in terms of the career opportunities it offered and the amount of responsibility it gave you from when you started.
What are your top tips for anyone thinking of applying for the civil service apprenticeship programme?
This apprenticeship would really benefit people who are interested in Government & Politics and generally those who want to work in the Public Sector.
Be prepared to work hard, be optimistic and act as a team player.
Sell yourself and be confident when discussing your competencies.
What has been a highlight of working here?
Helping to organise and plan the OneHR community event which hosts between 200-300 people.
Listening to Big Ben and being close to the heart of government.

What do you plan to do after the apprenticeship?
I am only six months into my apprenticeship and will consider all my options such as the Fast Stream but I would like to have a policy role in the Cabinet Office or being more ambitious, have a job in Parliament or Downing Street working with Ministers.
